If you need either of the Water terrain character classes for some reason, this is a good place to pick some up. You will constantly run into Nixies as you traipse around the rivers. The same can be said about the Pixies in any mountain range on this stage.  The one real great thing about the Pixies that you find on this stage is that they are super high level, which means you are that much closer to getting some ultra powerful Sylphs for free! With this in mind, it certainly can’t hurt to recruit a few!

Unit# 20-1

You would think that the computer would launch some water units at you, but that’s not the case here.  Instead, you will face lots and lots of “goodly” character classes. Since the boss of this stage is a clergyman of some sort (as he proposes to be, anyway!), it only makes sense I guess. High end ones, too. Many many Monks, Cherubim, Sylph, Back Row Paladin, etc. All things considered, not a good stage for any Undead units!  Just be careful with your evil classes as well, as they might actually be in for a challenge this go around...

Beat The Stage!

Prologue:  This region is famous for the beautiful view called the Last Paradise. However, the view is not so breathtaking, now that Cardinal Randals is in charge. When the war first started, he instantly joined with the Empire.  Now, he just sits back and levies a hefty tax on the people that are unfortunate enough to live here.

Back to the really large maps again... Aside from the huge expanse and numerous towns that litter the landscape, the completion of this stage marks the final hurdle to obtaining the “TABLET” (Tablet of Yaru). Other than that, there’s not a whole lot going on here.  So get through this stage quickly to begin collecting Zodiac Stones!

Deployment Time!
You’ve got a lot of ground to cover, and many different direction to go to.  Send you some land based city liberators to the west to liberate Babaltz, Harmhella, & GafeltGafelt is of primary importance, but only because it is the shop town.  Any units over here will be safe from enemy advances. Send a few more ground liberators east to free the towns of Pulwatt, Proana, & Uore Ai.  The rest of your troops, including your flying city liberating units like Canopus, should head to the north.  It should be a given that the enemy units will come flowing upon you from the north, so make sure that you have some big & bad units to greet them! Even though this looks like a water stage, these types of units are not particularly recommended.  The reason why is because they will basically be stuck on either the left side or right side of the stage, and therefore unable to adapt easily in case the enemy units decide to. Oh, and your good oldde Opinion Leader should hang back unless he/she’s of a more militant nature... At any rate, he/she’s a prime candidate for liberating R.T. #2 below your main base.

Step 1:  For being such a late game stage, this one is surprisingly simple & straightforward. There are two ‘exit points’ that the enemy units will take from the boss castle of Salarn.  One is from its SW, in which it passes through the town of Raiyagam; the other is to its SE, where it goes through Dantcaste.  More units will come through this second path, so be unit heavy on this side.  Liberate the town of Selam as soon as you can, and use this town as an early staging location for your adventures in the upper two islands. As you go liberating towns, you will hear a few tales. Besides people complaining about the high taxes, that is! For instance, the hidden Roshian Temple SE of your main base will tell you about a witch named Tarut, and that she’s not of this world.  Hmm...  Sounds like it’s worth looking into!

Step 2:  As soon as you liberate Selam, use some “BOOTS” (7 League Boots) to bring the rest of your tribe up to the action.  As soon as you snag the towns of Raiyagam & Dantcaste, you’ve blocked both of the enemy’s main access points to the lower portion of the stage, and really got him fenced in.  This is a great place to make a wall of units to methodically eliminate enemy units with.  Clean up the stragglers, and you’re all set!  When you do liberate the town of Raiyagam, you’ll hear an interesting rumor. The people will tell you that General Luvalon, the strongest of the four Devas, is at the boss castle of Salarn right now!  He is here searching for an item called the “GRAIL” (Grail).

Step 3:  This is pretty much all there is.  Not too tough, eh?  While your wall of units get rid of the enemy scum, you may as well have your liberating units seek out any towns that are still under enemy control. Your flying units that aren’t fighting can locate buried treasure if you so need.  Simple as a pimple!  When you are ready, assemble your strongest unit, and...

4 Direct, 4 Targeted, & ? Targeted or ? Hit-All

This guy is the same character class as Baron Apros, who you trounced way back in the City of Malano stage. But this guy is way tougher! This unit is bad to the bone, so really powerful Hit-All White attacks are your best bet. To counteract the tremendous Black attacks that Randals will send at you, use your friend, the “World” Tarot Card. Another buddy is the “Fool” card, as it will wipe away all of the Evil Ones that try to protect the corrupt cardinal. As it turns out, Randals is amazingly weak to several different types of elemental attacks, so you have your options here. Just not Black attacks.  Still, a “Judgment” card is still your best choice, surprisingly with the “Tower” card right up there.  All in all, not an overtly difficult boss fight.

Aftermath

Come on back for a super important item, not to mention a Zodiac Stone.

1) May as well do the most important thing first! Visit the town of Ramoto, and you will meet the witch Tarut, another ‘heavenly body’ that used to reside on one of the sky islands. If you have both the “DOUN GEM” (Gem of Doun) and the “ORB” (Olden Orb), she will give you the “TRUE GEM” (Gem of Truth) to complete your set.  Just a reminder, but you have to go back to Pogrom Forest to get the "ORB" (Olden Orb). Now, all that you need to do is go back to Shangrila, and show all three of them to the goddess of justice, Fellana.  After that, you’re in like sin! Time to start collecting Zodiac Stones!!

A Roshian Monk

2) Visit the town of Harmhella for a little trinket. There are two different items that you could possibly get, and it’s dependent on your Reputation.  If it is at least halfway full, you will get the “SIGMUND” (Sigmund) weapon. It’s a real strong Lightning based weapon. Otherwise, you will get the “COIN” (Beast Coin), which you can turn around and sell for a pretty penny of Goth. This is one case where the ‘evil’ reward item is a bit better to get than the ‘goodly’ reward item, but at this point in the game, either item should be gravy and not necessity!

3) Visit R.T. #2, slightly SE of your main base of Fahrk, and if you have the “TABLET” (Tablet of Yaru), the messenger of the Gods will present you with the “TOPAZ” (Topaz), which is the eleventh stone of the Zodiac.
